Project Vision
The Colony Park Sustainable Community Initiative is a proposed master-planned, 208-acre development that incorporates best-practice strategies for energy-efficient building design, water conservation and Zero Waste technology. The vision is to create a model for a sustainable and livable mixed-use, mixed-income community in Austin.
Location
Colony Park is located east of U.S. Highway 183 approximately between Johnny Morris Road and Decker Lane, north of Loyola Lane.
Funding
A Community Challenge grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development provides for completion of a master plan resulting in Planned Unit Development (PUD) rezoning; engineering for subdivision and site planning for review and approval by the City of Austin; infrastructure construction plans and architectural design guidelines for new sustainable residential and commercial development.
