Developer Incentive Program
Through the Developer Incentive Program, the City of Austin partners with private developers to support the creation and preservation of affordable housing opportunities benefiting low- and moderate-income households. This is done through various Developer Incentive Programs which provide incentives for developers to set aside affordable rental and ownership units in market rate developments. Below is a list of current for sale homes under the Developer Incentive Program.
Currently, the Program has three homes for sale, listed below.
The City of Austin, through its Austin Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC), has programs to help low- to moderate-income households into affordable home ownership through the Community Land Trust Program (CLT). A Community Land Trust allows buyers to purchase a home and lease the land. By taking the cost of the land out of the real estate transaction, land trust homes offer more manageable monthly mortgage payments and are more affordable than houses on the open real estate market.
Eligibility for participation in the Land Trust program involves:
Not owning a home in past three years, or recently displaced or divorced
