Austin Public Library branches, Recycled Reads Bookstore, and the Austin History Center will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.
Recreation, senior, and cultural centers will be closed for Independence Day. Additionally, historical facilities and museums, including the Elizabet Ney Museum, O. Henry Museum, George Washington Carver Museum, Dougherty Arts Center, and Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center will be closed Wednesday.
City of Austin golf courses and tennis centers will be open for regularly scheduled hours on Independence Day. All swimming pools will be open (except for Mabel Davis, Shipe, and Govalle). Barton Springs Pool will be open with staff on site, but no lifeguard on duty. Public swims at their own risk. View City pool hours online here.
Summer playground program sites, the Zilker Botanical Garden and the Austin Nature and Science Center will also be closed on Wednesday.
The Austin Animal Center will have modified hours, open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
