Public is invited to an open house on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
The City of Austin is excited to bring improvements to Givens Park through two separate projects. An open house will be held on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Givens District Park Pavilion to share information on both projects and collect input on the Park Master Plan.
The Park Master Plan addresses potential future improvements including, upgraded sports and recreation facilities, improved natural features, and increased accessibility for adjacent neighborhoods. The planning team is currently analyzing existing conditions of the park and seeks public input to help identify and prioritize improvements.
The Watershed Protection Department plans to stabilize the eroding streambanks of Tannehill Branch Creek downstream of the Martin Banks Pavilion and construct a rain garden to capture and treat parking lot runoff near Oak Springs Drive. Construction on the erosion project and rain garden is anticipated to begin late this summer.
