The City of Austin Economic Development Department (EDD) announced today the appointment of Erica Shamaly as the Music & Entertainment Division Manager.
Shamaly comes to EDD having previously been the Director of Marketing for both ACL Live and 3TEN ACL Live music venues. Combining both her management experience and marketing expertise within the music and creative industries, Erica will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the Music & Entertainment Division and the 9 staff plus develop and implement initiatives that help accelerate the growth of the music and entertainment industry infrastructure.
Shamaly holds a BFA in Art History and a BA in Studio Art from the University of Texas at Austin. She served as the Co-Founder & Co-Executive Director of the Austin School of Film @ Motion Media Arts Center (ASoF). She also served as the Director of Marketing & Business Development for the Reverberation Appreciation Society (RVRB) / Austin Psych Fest, before assuming the role of Director of Marketing at ACL Live and 3TEN in 2014.
