Community invited to family-friendly event to hear updates on study.
Community to receive update on the Seaholm Waterfront Programming and Implementation Study
9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Zilker Botanical Gardens Auditorium
Austin Parks Foundation (APF) and The Trail Foundation (TTF), in partnership with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), invite Austinites to the second of two community input events on the Seaholm Waterfront Programming and Implementation Study. The event will take place on Saturday, September 23rd from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Zilker Botanical Gardens Auditorium.
The community will have the opportunity to hear about progress made to date on the study. Displays will be available to learn more about programming ideas from Austinites that have been given in-person and through online surveys. The project consultants, Studio Gang, will be on hand to talk more about the extensive ecological, cultural, and historical research they have done on the project. The family-friendly event will feature interactive activities to engage children, and a range of potential programming scenarios will also be available for review. Input from the open house will go towards the development of recommendations for the DraftProgramming and Implementation Study, which will help city leaders decide how to best support the development of this civic amenity for all of Austin. The study is expected to be completed in the fall.
