The vision of the Central Texas Diabetes Coalition is to have a Central Texas community that is empowered to prevent and manage diabetes.
The Coalition is a collaboration of public health and community agencies working to improve diabetes prevention and control in Travis County and surrounding counties. It mobilizes community partners to increase access to diabetes self-management and prevention resources, and facilitates policy and environmental changes that lead to healthy lifestyles.
The Coalition works on projects that fit its vision and mission. Current projects include:
Community calendar of diabetes education classes
Continuing medical education on diabetes
Access to healthier eating options, including healthy vending machines and healthy restaurants

The Central Texas Diabetes Coalition is a grassroots organization with a diverse membership. Participation is open to all organizations and individuals with an interest in diabetes prevention and control. Current participants include community-based organizations, clinics, schools, the University of Texas, and city, county, and state government.
