The Dougherty Arts School's adult arts program is dedicated to enriching the Austin community with hands-on artistic opportunities. The school hires skilled artists that are committed to sharing their knowledge and exploring new ideas with students. Classes provide the springboard for students wishing to experience creativity and personal growth. Call 512-974-4040 to register or for more information.

Sessions
The adult program has seven six-week sessions throughout the year. The program's yearly calendar is as follows:
Fall 1: September - October
Fall 2: November - December
Spring 1: January - February
Spring 2: February - March

Teen Request Form - Waivers for students under the age of 18 must be completed and signed by the parent or guardian before the student can attend class. Request must be submitted at least 5 business days before the class begins. Requests to attend classes with descriptions that state students must be at least 18 years old will not be approved. Ages 15 -17 considered only.
Adult Independent Study Request Form - Independent study is available for advanced students that are: completely self-guided, don't need instruction, or create production work. All students (new and current) must notify DAC staff of intent to apply by filling out the application form and signing up for a six-week evaluation period with a Dougherty Arts Center instructor. Students must demonstrate skilled knowledge while taking a six-week session to be considered for approval. Please read studio policies before registering. Student Evaluation forms are available below with the requirements students must meet to be approved for Independent Study.

Registration is offered online, by walk-in, and phone. Online registration ends several days before classes begin. Once online registration has ended, call the registration office to see if spaces are still available. Early registration is encouraged to ensure classes meet their minimum enrollment and to have the best chance to secure a space before the class is full.

Full payment is required at the time of the registration and to secure a spot in a class, unless otherwise noted. Registrations will be accepted online, by phone at 512-974-4040 or in person at the Dougherty Arts Center front desk. No registrations will be accepted prior to 10AM on the first day of each registration date (refer to registration dates prior to submittal).
Registrations received prior to 10AM on the first day of registration will be returned without being processed.
